Welcome to portable street art. This a new and exciting art movement, hatched by the writer of this blog, in suburban USA of all places. Portable street art takes street art to a whole new level through creating portable art which can be taken by the viewer. Taken? Yes. Why? Traditional street art defaces property, and taxpayers traditionally pay for the equipment to clean up this free form art. Portable street art incorporates the whimsical and unpredictable nature of this art form, allows the viewer to truly engage in the art, and adds a dimension of connectivity if the journey of the art piece is chronicled on this website.
If you are reading this blog, there is a good chance you have found and taken some street art stamped with this address. Good work! Many others must have passed right by without having the guts to grab it. Now, I would like to know what you are going to do with your portable street art. Maybe you will place it somewhere else to participate in the thrill of being a street artist? Maybe you will sell it on Ebay? Maybe you will take it to a local art dealer and make a buck? Maybe you will hang it in your front hall and have a good story of how you obtained this art? Thank you for making the world a more amusing place. Please post a photo or story on this blog and include the number of the piece you snagged from the street.
Me? Along with this street art project, I am an art therapist and spend my days in a sacred profession of helping people grow emotionally. Feel free to contact me at: Heartlandarttherapy@gmail.com
